Femme Fatale - Glinting Lodestone, Planar Anomalies,Mana Ruby, Gilded Rose, Sweet Surprise, Winter Hyacinth

Here is a smattering of Femme Fatales. Some I already owned, and some were sent for review. One was both! (Gilded Rose, suppose I should have mentioned I already owned it).

I am going to start this off on a bad foot. I do this because like my meals, I prefer to end with the tastiest bite. This is the untastiest bite. This was the blurst of times.

Planar Anomalies - 1 coat over black

2 coats alone with no topcoat because ain't nobody got enough topcoat.

Gah I could have moisturized eh? At any rate, this polish had promise. Holographic glitter in a colour shifting grey jelly base. Nein. Taco. Ixnay. DASISTNICHTSOGUT. I am glad I didn't pay for this, though I suppose I did pay for shipping. I forgive you though Femme Fatale. You make so many other beautiful amazing things. Such as the following: (all of the following are topped with NYC Matte as a glitter filler and then SV)

***

Winter Hyacinth. This is 3 coats. It could be thinner. That is my fault, not the polish. It gets all blobulous around my pinky all the time. No matter what I do I get a pinky blob. FU pinky. I found the white diamonds wanted to stick together like sister wives. It does take a bit of fishing, but I've yet to meet another polish with similar glitter that did not.

Sweet Surprise. 3 coats. You do need to wait between coats or it gets pully. Same with all the others really.

Mana Ruby. 4 coats. I really need to go back and fiddle with this more. I wanted to see what it looked like alone, and it does actually build up quite nicely, but I should have taken the time to do a few more (thinner) coats. Maybe 5 thin coats instead of 4 thick ass coats. I also want to try it over black and OPI Vodka & Caviar. Apologies for latent Warsaw bits around my cuticles.

Gilded Rose. I received this one to review, but I had already purchased the full size. I quite love it. I decided to try 2 coats over black because I normally do it over gold or pink.

Glinting Lodestone. This one was actually a gift from my besty miss Moxie <3 Thank you love! ADORE! This is 2 coats over OPI I saw something we did who now Warsaw (that blue one from that collection). Side note, shorten your damn names Suzi.

All in all I really love what Femme Fatale offers. I think they have really pretty polishes. With the exception of Planar Anomalies, I would happily recommend this polish to anyone. There are those little above and beyond things like the tiny red flecks in Glinting Lodestone that give these polishes extra depth and interest that not all polishes have.

Femme Fatale polishes can be purchased from their website as well as through Llarowe, Harlow & Co etc.

  1. "stick together like sister wives" and "OPI I saw something we did who now Warsaw" have officially made me love you.

I don't think I could ever pull off Femme Fatale polishes, large-size glitter and my very curved nail beds are at serious odds. :(

    1. I can tell we will get along smashingly ;)

The advantage of the larger size glitter (if that is an advantage) is that you really need to fish it out and place it. You might not be able to rock it right on the apex of the curve, but you could shimmy it around until it fits nice I bet. Alternately, you could avoid it which is easy because that crap is shy as a mother.

    1. Thanks! I have a few of the pigments that I haven't played with much as of yet, but they are gorgeous. I want more! MORE I SAY.

  4. Yikes, that first one looks like what the roads do around here when it gets too hot! I appreciate your honesty though :D

The others are lovely, especially Winter Hyacinth. I need to get that one!
