Rainbow Honey - Sweet Talk Collection - XOXO and Sweet Talk

I was super pleased to receive these from Rainbow Honey. I got the email that they were sending bloggers 2 of the 3 polishes in the collection and including a $5 dollar off promo code to purchase the 3rd (or anything else they sell for that matter) and I was so hoping these were the 2 I got. So here are the lovelies that I received:

Sweet Talk - 3 coats with 1 coat of top coat that was not thick enough *kicks bottle* I should have used Glitter Food.

I then added 1 coat of XOXO

XOXO - Funky french with OPI Kiss me on my Tulips and 2 coats of XOXO no topcoat

Check out the shimmer! I frigging adore this polish.

I feel the need to reswatch Sweet Talk in 1 coat over a white base. I feel that the 3 coats needed for opacity sort of muted the colours that I wanted to pop. Also, next time I will use a thicker topcoat.

Nail Pattern Boldness - Glitter Food

I am not reviewing a colour. I am not reviewing a topcoat. I am reviewing the middle man, or lady as it were.  Glitter Food is a multitasker (hence it is also known as fix a flat).  Allison is a fabulous chick who makes fabulous stuff.

First off, this is a bottle of clear polish. The puddle in the bottom is actually spectraflair.

           

See? Wee puddle of spectraflair.

Add a little bit of Glitter Food/Fix a Flat et voila! Rainbow topcoat.

So today on the Nail Pattern Boldness Facebook page I saw Allison post a link to a Glitter Food review post (much better than mine, go look) which inspired me to do one of my own!

I decided I would try to conquer one of the nail world's most beautiful pain in the ass polishes .. the mylar glitter.

This is OPI Ink + Color Club Covered in Diamonds (I love you, but I het chu CiD) + Glitter Food + SV

These pictures alternate between no Glitter Food and with Glitter Food.

*rubs nails along face and does not get scratched at all*

CrowsToes - Celaeno and Taygete in the sun!

Okay so I already swatched these. I swatched the heck out of them, but not in outdoor lighting because really there was none. A perpetual cloud hangeth over Vancouver. Sun... I am disappoint.

So today there was a wee smidgen of sun! I got 3 CrowsToes Pleiades swatched, and only 2 of them looked decent when I uploaded. Way to fail at taking pictures self.

Both are 2 coats on all but ring which is 1 coat over black.

Pretty Serious - Christmas Without Snow Collection

I love Pretty Serious. Kaz is amazing. The customer service is fabulous. Recently, after an issue switching shipping methods that ended up in a delay, they sent out free ship codes to the people who were affected. They kept us all informed of what was going on as soon as they knew. I really appreciate that kind of thing. They are going to be keeping my business for a long time ;)

The boxes on these are gorgeous. I love collectable boxes. I have gone on before about how much I love the Pretty Serious boxes, so I will spare you this time.

Party by the Pool - This is 2 coats, I could have gone for a 3rd. This one needs thinner. It was a lot more opaque looking irl. Quite blingy and fabulous also!

Seasonal Sunset - 2 coats over top of Santa's Sunburn. This polish likely does not need to be layered, but that is what I did so here you go.

 Overall I am very pleased with this collection.

I love the contrasting blue shimmer over top of the green of Blue Gums on Boxing Day. I love the fiery depth of Seasonal Sunset. Santa's Sunburn is one of my favourite kinds of red but a bit more rusty leaning. Party by the Pool was squishy sparkly fabulousness. Hot Summer Nights is a gorgeous near black with a slick shimmer. Twinkling Lights is frigging copper and blue glitter.. COPPER and blue.
